Time is running out to nominate outstanding businesses, individuals and community groups to
nominate for Tamar NRM’s Sustainable Business and Community Awards. Aligned with the upcoming Tamar NRM Sustainable Living Festival, these awards honour and celebrate Tasmanian trailblazers committed to the principles of a circular economy.
These awards highlight problem-solvers reshaping our collective approach to waste, environmental degradation, and resource depletion, celebrating progress, embracing big and small efforts, and encouraging continued circular problem-solving.
Going Circular represents progress towards the three fundamental tenets of a circular economy: designing out waste and pollution, keeping products and materials in use, and regenerating natural systems.
"We are not seeking perfection but progress, and our awards celebrate the diverse circular efforts across Tasmania. It's about recognising initiatives, products, and services that embed circular practices in every aspect of our daily lives," said Tamar NRM Program Coordinator Nick Flittner.
All nominees will receive statewide recognition, with winners selected by a panel of experienced volunteer judges. Winners will be announced at the Tamar NRM Awards Ceremony on Friday, the 1st of March, the night before the Sustainable Living Festival, with special Guest Craig Reucassel.
"These awards spotlight the dedicated and visionary Tasmanians sparking ongoing change, driving action, and advancing us towards a circular future. They are for those on a journey towards circular practice, whatever their industry," said Nick.
To be part of this inspiring occasion and honour those who have demonstrated outstanding commitment to sustainability, submit your nominations before the closing date. The deadline for nominations has been extended to the 26th of January, so act now to ensure your nominees are considered. Tickets to the awards night will be available soon.
