Tamar Valley Leaders Lunch

From 2021 to 2024, Tamar NRM hosted a series of lunches where leaders in their field spoke on challenges, opportunities and impacts as Tasmania moves toward sustainability.


This project was run in partnership with Launceston Chamber of Commerce, Rotary Club of Central Launceston and the Hotel Grand Chancellor Launceston.


Some of the exciting speakers who participated in the leaders lunches:

  • Errol Stewart

  • Premier Peter Gutwein

  • Professor Irene Penesis from the Blue Economy CRC based at the Maritime College

  • Professor Dominic Geraghty, Pro-Vice Chancellor (Launceston), University of Tasmania, who spoke on 'Sustainable Regional Campuses for the North.'

  • Adam Mostogl from the Van Diemen Project who spoke on the topic of Tasmania: In Or Out of the Global Agenda for Sustainability

  • Dr Tony McCall, Project Director, Future Scanning, Economic Evaluation and Policy, Office of the Coordinator-General, who will talk about Circular Economy investment opportunities in Tasmania

  • Premier Jeremy Rockliff

  • The Three Mayors - Danny Gibson – City of Launceston, Christina Holmdahl – West Tamar Council and Greg Kieser – George Town Council
