Introducing Bluegum: Tasmanian Native Plant Nursery and Grounds Maintenance

  • 2 min read

Bluegum is a Tasmanian Social Enterprise that provides meaningful employment opportunities for people with disability while delivering professional grounds maintenance, environmental services, and native plant production. With more than 30 years of experience and an impeccable safety record, we are committed to supporting both our community and Tasmania's natural environment.

In addition to our established portfolio of services, Bluegum launched a Tasmanian Native Plant Nursery in 2026 with the support of grant funding. Our aim is to provide Tasmanian native tube stock throughout Northern Tasmania through wholesale supply, regular plant sale days, and retail outlets.

We recognised a growing need for this service following the scaling back and closure of several native plant nurseries. Our goal is to help maintain the supply of Tasmanian native plants for regeneration projects, municipal planting programs, and urban landholders seeking to incorporate more native species into their gardens and properties.

Bluegum can provide end-to-end services, from seed and cutting collection through to propagation, plant supply, planting, and ongoing maintenance.

Bluegum is a third-party certified Social Enterprise. By choosing our services, you are directly supporting local communities and the Tasmanian economy, creating meaningful employment opportunities for people with disability, and demonstrating the social values of your organisation or project.
