About the event
CARR VILLA FLORA RESERVE is home to diverse and colourful native flowers in spring and early summer. Â It is a peaceful place for nature walks in a delightful setting, and it needs our support to remediate and maintain its unique endemic species.
On Saturday, the 25th of November, the Australian Plant Society of Tasmania volunteers will be conducting FREE wildflower ‘walk and talks’ to launch our new "Friends of" project. Join us to learn about the unique species of Carr Villa Flora Reserve.
Walks start on the hour at 9, 10 and 11am.
WHAT TO BRING:
Wear sturdy walking shoes and sun protection. Bring a drink, a camera and notebook.
You can also participate in the Great Southern Bioblitz while you are there!
WHAT THE FRIENDS DO:
- Remove weeds
- Plant native plants
- Collect seeds for propagation
- Gain knowledge of local flora & fauna
- Working bees for 2 hours on 2 days each month.
- Connect with like-minded people in your neighbourhood
- Gain satisfaction from helping to improve our community wellbeing
