About the event

Receive expert advice on how to best live with, manage and reduce the fire risk on your property. All aspects of fuel reduction burning and management will be covered in this two-day hands on series.

THE DETAILS

This event follows the theory session held in May.

Saturday - 16 September, 9.30AM to 3:30PM

Sunday - 17 September, 9.30AM to 3.30PM

BBQ lunch will be provided (please advise dietary requirements in the registration form).  Please wear appropriate clothing for weather and walking.  Registration for this event, includes both days.  The exact location and directions to the venue will be provided three days prior to the event.

WHO WILL YOU HEAR FROM

Sam Tacey is the North Tasmania Red Hot Tips Facilitator, bringing to the role over 20 years of expertise in fire and land management gained from Tasmania and the states of the south-eastern Australian mainland. He has extensive experience in bushfire management and prescribed burning programs for fuel reduction across all tenures in Tasmania.

(Sunday only) Perpetua (Pep) Turner is the Manager of the State Fire Management Council, Tasmania. An independently chaired body established under the Fire Service Act 1979, the SFMC leads the enhancement and efficient management of bushfire related risk in Tasmania in order to protect life, property and significant community values. Pep has over 25 years of experience in land management and regulation, forest and fire ecology, and ecological management, working from the coalface through to high level government.
